KUMAMOTO WORKSHOP

Four generations of tatami. One pair of hands.

Our workshop in Kumamoto has been weaving tatami for close to a century. Today, Tatamino brings that craft into smaller, daily pieces — placemats, coasters, and trays woven from a modern tatami fiber that is gently hand-washable, color-fast, and built for the dinner table.

Every piece is made by hand, one at a time, by the same person who'll answer your email.

  • Handwoven in Kumamoto

Made by one person, one at a time, on traditional looms in a 4th-generation Japanese workshop.

  • Easy to care for

Gently hand-wash with water when needed. Not machine-washable. Colors stay true for years.
